The Best Friend You Can Get to Know in 2012

It's all about Jesus. That is where it's at. There is nothing more important than the fact that Jesus is the Christ, He is the Anointed One, He is God in the flesh. He is God. HE is our God. He is my God. What could possibly be more important than this? What legacy do you want to leave with your children's children? How about a legacy of faith? Nothing could be more beautiful or important than that!

How can we make sure all those in our sphere of influence are introduced to Jesus? That they, at the very least, know a little about who He is?

The first way is by demonstrating LOVE. Matthew 5:9 explains that the peacemakers are blessed because they shall be called the children of God. You see, those that show love and spread peace will be remembered as God's children. The BEST way to be a testimony for Jesus is not to proclaim all of your rules, and morals and piety, but to be loving. John also tells us that they will know us by our LOVE for each other. When we treat people with kindness, courtesy, respect, charity, consideration and compassion-these will show the world what our God is all about :) It may seem so simple, to some even corney or cliche, but it is Biblical and absolutely true. You just need to show God's love. That is the ministry. The epistles tell us that if we Love we will fulfill the law. Jesus says if you love God and love your neighbour-you are following all of the laws.

But love isn't something we can just work up or force ourselves to do. Sure, there are some types of love that can come naturally, like the way you feel about your children, your own flesh and blood, but the love of God, is supernatural and Divine. it brings about forgiveness and tenderness and kindness that the world looks at with astonishment.

How can you be filled with this miraculous love?

It only comes from God.

In John we are told we need to abide in Him who is the True Vine and we need to abide in His love....
As you pray, and read the Bible, and listen in the stillness for the voice of the Holy Spirit. As you walk with God, as you meditate on what Christ did on th cross of Calvary-as you consider His great sacrifice, you will find the presence of God in you will give you an ENTIRELY new outlook on your life. You will begin to see the people around you from God's perspective instead of your own, and you will love them as He does.

Jesus told us we need to Abide in HIM. There are all sorts of teachers, and preachers, books and seminars-that want to give you some kind of program, or formula-that is going to show you how to live the Christian life. But the Christian life is not a formula, it is CHRIST.

Every problem that you could think of-is answered by your relationship with Christ. Just think, if a pastor has to sit down with Church memebers who are arguing and tell them to get along, while he may take the time to figure out who is right and who is wrong etc. I guarantee that the real problem is spiritual. If we loved each other fervently as Christ does, if we had compassion and tenderness for each other, if we were humble, if we were praying for each other, and having compassion for each other, if we were filled with the Spirit of Christ, we would not be arguing like we do. It is really that simple.

If you will invest the time into your PERSONAL, abiding with Jesus, that intimate one-ness that you have with HIM-will cange your relationships with other people. It isn't a formula, it's a friendship.

I am so glad that when I am all alone, I am still in the presence of the one who never leaves me nor forsakes me.

Joy to The World

The most important Christmas image for me is the star. I LOVE seeing a good, well-done Christmas star decorating someone's house. We have a beautiful star on the top of our tree. Just like the sailors look to the North Star, the wise men looked to this unique star to guide them in a constant direction closer to their Saviour. God's guidance is like a star. Not only does it give direction by its placement but it also gives us light and even beauty.
There is one house that I drive by sometimes in North Collins that has literally the hugest, most impressive Christmas display I have ever seen anywhere, and at the center of it all is this immense, gorgeous star. And as you look at it, you realize that while on the one hand it looks like a star, it also looks like a cross with light shining from it.

As Christians, the truths that we celebrate-those of Divine Light & Illumination, redemption, salvation, peace and freedom-are ideals that are significant to every human being at all times of the year and in all places. Whether it is when the Jews sit down to a Sedar meal and remember how God delivered them from Egypt or whether it is the Gentiles singing songs about the advent of Jesus Christ, or whether it is the lighting of a Menorah that reminds how God protected and provided for the people of Israel amidst persecution---the great eternal truths are always present. The fact that a Merciful God offers hope in a world full of fears and light in a world full of darkness.

That is why lighting candles at a candle-light service or sitting and watching my tree is meaningful to me. It doesn't just stand for winter-time, or another year come and gone, or family and all I have to be thankful for, or even just the birth of Christ-it is the very essence of Christ that I am reminded of yet again-that He came here, was born humbly, died and rose victoriously and will one day return as a triumphant, irresistable, glorious King over all, The fact that in the end, no matter how hopeless it may seem, or no matter how trite and cliche the words of faith may seem-in the end-when the fullness of the time has come-God will send His Son. And just like those little snowdrop flowers surprise the heck out of us when they're the first things to sprout up and blossom when spring has barely begun-all of the war, darkness, hate, sorrow and suffering, sin and darkness of this world will give way to the marvellouse light of our glorious KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS. ALL that is truly good will just prosper and flourish and spread and the meek really will inherit the earth. The kingdom of God will come to man. So, interestingly, for me-Christmas is a reminder not just of what happened 2,000 years ago in Bethlehem and the prophecies that those ancient Jews watched being fulfilled, but the prophecies that we are watching being fulfilled and our turn to see the coming of Messiah. This is our Blessed Hope. Have a Blessed Christmas.

Broken and Whole

As judgmental as people can be of one another, a lot of the times the one who judges me is myself. No matter how hard I try, I can never live up to everything I believe and want to be.

It can break your heart, trying to deal with what some call "Self." Of course, one of the things that I have learned is that it isn't really me. The new me wants NOTHING but good and holy things. It's the flesh that still is present that sometimes can raise it's ugly head. But I don't have to spend my time entertaining that old nature-intead I like to spend time being the new man that I am and following the new desires of my new heart.

But when something comes up as it often does, it can make me sad. But it is or should be a learning moment. According to Romans 8 God uses all things together for good to them that love Him so even those times when you're feeling down because you feel so dissapointed with yourself-God can do something good. So here's one, how about learning to let God love you when you mess up? This can be a hard one to learn.

We feel tempted to try and punish ourselves, do some kind of penance, put ourselves down a bit, tell God just how disgusted we re with ourselves etc. Well, God already knew how nasty your sins were before you were saved and He still chose to love you and forgive you. So don' shy away from it, go ahead and confess it, own up to it, but accept nd receive the forgiveness and the love that your Father still has for you. The way I see it, He has already forgiven us, we confess it so we can accept the forgiveness ourselves and not deal with feelings of guilt. and screw up our walk and fellowship

So thank You Jesus, my Lord and Saviour, for understanding and forgiving me. Thank You for accepting me. Thank You for forgiving me. Thank You for healing me. I am broken but I am whole. Amen.

I Will Now Hi-Jack Humanism

Behold! How good and pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity-I believe that is from Psalm 133....

In order to abide in Christ's love, we first must get a look at HIM and who He is and how He demonstrates His wonderful love to us

The next great thing that happens in our journey to God's love is that we begin to love others more. Love our brethren. Love our neighbours, and love our enemies.

When you are talking about theology all of the time but you're cold, sarcastic, mean and even detached from your humanity--you have entered into the scary world of religion! God's people will be known by their love. You can right it off as liberal or hollywood but the fact is where there is love there is some warmth, there is some gentleness, there is a tender heart. If you're cold and calculating in your relationships-even if it is in the name of Biblical truth etc. You are lacking love, and you're religious but not godly. The presence of God fills your heart with a special kind of compassion and tenderness. A love that the world will not mistake for being commonplace. They will KNOW that you are different.

I can remember a time in my life, where with good intentions, I was FILLED with religious zeal, and that zeal made me angry at the world, I felt I was at war with everything and everyone. Trying to set things right & get the truth out. And hey, some of the stuff I was crusading for I was probably right about! But what a miserable life. A life driven by being against something is so much less rewarding than a life driven by being for something or better yet being in love with someone!

As I look at and examine and think about and ponder and meditate on the glory, the creativity, the strength, the beauty, the compassion, the wisdom, the truth, the splendour and the sublimity of my Redeemer and Creator-I am filled with wonder! My life is an adventure. My heart is thrilled.

What makes us human beings is that we can laugh, dance, sing, paint, write poetry, make love, climb mountains, stair at the sky in astonishment, explore, fall in love, write a symphony, show compassion----you say what on earth are you talking about.....I'm talking about the fact that God made us as individuals, humans, people, and we enjoy things, in this very human way-a way that the animals don't. A dog doesn't look up at the stars at night and say 'wow! how beautiful!' and though all species have to reproduce they certainly dont fall into or make love, you say what is your point? Well, what makes is DIFFERENT is the fact that we were made in the image and likeness of God. So you see, you can learn something about the personality of your Creator by what makes us different than the animals. God loves. God creates. God makes music and melody and beauty!

So yes, my rigid friends among us, even you-need to join this Divine dance and enter into the kind of life God designed us to enjoy.

David, danced before the Ark, he played the harp, he fought as a warriour, he wrote the Psalm. He lived a passionate, creative life with God, as a man AFTER GOD's OWN HEART

Love Love Love Love Love

Joy unspeakable and full of glory and peace with surpasseth understanding!  Those are a couple of the great emotions promised to God's saints. Not all of God's saints seem to enjoy these blessing though. I heard one teacher try to excuse this lil discrepancie by claiming that we have just misunderstood what joy and peace are, they're just a kind of quiet contentment, just enough to get us by thru this tough life. Well, I don't swallow that. Could Paul and Silas sing out with confidence from a dungeon after being beaten, with that kind of cheap imitation of joy? Nah. They had something to write home about, they had something supernatural and downright scandalously extreme, they were some fanatics ; )

Every single day I'm learning a lil more about God's amazing love. You can't exhaust it. It is soooo liberating and I want so desperately to be able to explain it and share it because I know many people just don't understand. I am so burdened to see so many people receive God's healing. But you have to be willing and open to learn.

None of us are beyond learning something new. None of us.

Some things I've been learning
#1. I'm not a sinner ;) People go on and on about how they hate themselves because their flesh is so filthy and disgusting etc, but Paul says it is no more I that do it but sin that dwells in me. You see, we here so much about it Jeremiah where it says we have this desperately wicked and deceitful heart but we miss the rest of the story where we are given BRAND NEW hearts. I am not bad. I am not my flesh. I am not dirty. I am clean, pure, and holy by the blood of Christ. I am a new creatire. With good and holy desires. I am not dirty or evil anymore. I am a servant and son of the Most Holy God. Pretty cool!

#2. God is not a sadist. . . yes, God does and can use suffering and sorrow in our lives to bless us and draw us closer to Himself but He is not cruel and He is not half as stern and harsh as some would have you believe. He is our FATHER. And He isn't like and earthly father, as loving our your earthly Daddy may have been. Your Heavenly Daddy is infinitely more lovign and affectionate. He gives us ALL good gifts, they all come down from the Father of Lights. Think about ROmans 8, and also the sermon on the mount when Jesus talks about asking Him for things, how HE WANTS to give us good things. God isn't looking for an excuse to punish you and make life difficult, Nowhere in the New Testament Scripture is it even hinted at that God has that attitude, so why do we want to often paint God the Father as this brutal, angry, harsh, authoriterean. There is no Scriptural evidence to support that. God loves us extravagantly!

#3. The Christian life is succesful when we ABIDE in His love. In John 15 we learn that Jesus is the True Vine and we are the branches, How many times have you heard a sermon on that portion of Scripture and all the sermon is about is the "Purging" in other words, if u wana bear fruit God's gonna purge ya and prune you and its gonna hurt! Well, that is partialy true, BUT the emphasis of the Scripture is that we will grow and bear fruit and keep the commandment if we ABIDE IN HIS LOVE. How do I abide in His love? It's easy really. Think about it. That's right,.every day, meditate on His love and you'll find you are abiding. Now you may think the purging part means trials and tribulations, well that maybe, but for some, what you need to be purged of is your false notions about our Merciful Father! You may not need another fiery trial today, your purging for today might just be reading this blog....

We're told in the New Testament, not to leave the Simplicity that is in Christ. Jesus liked to keep things simple for us, why do you suppose He boiled ALL of the law down to two commandments. Love God. Love others.

You see people on the internet arguing about Christmas, the Jewish feasts, tattooes, denominational labels, Church polity, genealogies, etymological origins of proper names, lol everything under the sun pretty much. But all you really need to know is. Love! You say that's new age, liberal, hippie nonsense :) lol you can tell that to Jesus, my friend. He is the one who made it so simple for us to understand. This way we woudln't get bogged down with endless, fruitless debates and weak, confused consciences. Chill out everyone! And Merry Christmas to you all! Jesus loves you.

The Life Of Freedom

For me,the American flag flying in the wind, a soaring eagle or a Harley Davidson roaring down the road-sum up the sense of Freedom and Liberty. Camping. Out in the mountains, out in open areas where there's nothing boxing you in, makes me feel so free! As most of you know, one of my very favorite statements from Scipture says that where the Spirit of the Lord is there is liberty! I love freedom. I value it so much. And I look for it, not only in politics and nations, but in spiritual and emotional life.

Some people believe they have freedom, and don't realize the prison they've created for themselves. Being rebellious and doing wrong isn't real freedom. and abandoning your beliefs and principles isn't real freedom. Real freedom is just being free.

I see some folks who claim to be free because they've separated from some individual or group who is, or is perceived to be controlling or manipulating. They feel they have fought back, escaped, and are now free. If so, good for them! But let's look at what true freedom is all about. When you are liberated in mind, soul and body-it bears certain fruits. Just like flying down the road on your Harley Davidson with the wind in your hair, your new-found freedom will be EXHILERATING!!! Is what you're experiencing exhilerating you and filling you with sincere enjoyment, or are  you full of anger, resentment, rage and paranoia?

When first standing up to any injustice it is totally natural to have some anger and zeal. But Jesus wasn't making stuff up when He told us to love our enemies, pray for those who persecute us, and overcome evil with good! He told this to us for OUR sake because He knew it would save us from the poison of hate/rage/bitterness that will literally get in your bones and destroy you. You will NEVER see Jesus condoning evil behavior and He is NOT asking us to, we should stand up against wrong but we should be vigilant not to lose our own souls in the process and become what we think we are fighting.

You want to experience freedom? When you can look into the face of someone who has profoundly hurt you and love them, you will be free indeed! Nothing can hurt you, when the natural pangs of fear and anger and resentment just don't seem to come. The love of Jesus is a vaccination that makes us immune to the damage that our enemies can do to our hearts. They can't make us hate them! They CANNOT hold that big of a place in our hearts ANYMORE-the only thing they can take from us now, is pitty!

Jesus tells us not to judge. And again, He didn't say that just because He likes the sound of His own voice. We MUST leave the judging to Him because when we condemn others, we're bringing ourselves into condemnation. Why? Because Jesus knows the truth-that we're just as guilty as the ones who've hurt us whether we admit it or not. We like to compare ourselves with ourselves and justify ourselves but the fact is if Jesus can forgive me, I must forgive others. And who will be blessed because of it? Me! This is all for my good so I can be free and sleep at night!

I know I will let myself down. I know I find myself judging others at times. But I am going to make this new understanding of forgiveness a part of my life from now on and let the blessings flow. I'm going to follow the principle of overcoming evil with good and blessing my enemies and praying for my persecutors.

It is easy to be misunderstood here. In NO way does this mean that you should not set up healthy boundaries. In no way does it mean you should expose yourself to unsafe or unacceptable behavior. It simply means you will not hate, spread resentment, hold grudges, condemn etc. True love must be tough love AT TIMES but never abandon love for hate or stop seeing things through God's eyes. God sees us all as the same, creations who He has come to seek and to save. Pettiness, envy, hate, covetousness, and bitterness that can eat a human being alive, will have no power over the Christian who is full of Christ's love & compassion. Would to God that we would understand this by the illumination of the Holy Ghost. Amen.

Merry Christmas

The Lord came to us as a little baby. He came to the humble, vulnerable environment of Bethlehem. He came in the vessel of a frail, human body. And the angels of Heaven sang the glory of it, they said Glory to God in the highest and on earth peace, good will toward men!

The Prince of Peace will one day soon bring peace to all the world by being the true King of kings and lord of lords who reigns in authority and justice, but even now, He brings peace to the hearts of millions. He brings peace to believing families who cherish one another and worship together in family alter and Church.

Let this be a time of renewing our love, passion and commitment to the Prince of Peace and all of the wonderful blessings that He has entrusted to us. For so many of us, this year has brought many new challenges. The economy is difficult, people are sick, people have lost loved ones, etc. And yet we are also blessed, and so filled with thankfulness that we have hope in Christ.

As we approach a new year, let's renew our commitment to the Lord and to one another. Let's resolve to stick together, Take care of each other, and band together to get through whatever is ahead of us, knowing that because of the message the angels gave to those Shepherds, we do have hope, we do have a bright future, there will be worldwide peace on earth someday, but for now, that peace can reign in our hearts, and if we let it, our households. Let your heart be warmed by the sublime, beautiful, timeless truths of how a powerful, wise Almighty Lord, made His dwelling among men, in the most unlikely of ways, How He faced everything that we face, how He understand, how He demonstrated sacrifice and love to us and how He came out of it all victorious. Let's celebrate and meditate on the Christ!

the Old Snow Paths

So, I've been listening to some preching this evening, as I sit here, feeling sick-I've been listening to John R. Rice. A great Preacher from the past. We hear a lot of talk about the "Old Paths" and the "Old Time Religion" but in this man's sermon-I detected the true, authentic love and humility of the old time religion.

He also wrote a book on the Christian home. It's a beautiful, and perhaps under-appreciated book because it is so simple, and old-fashioned. Even in a lot of our TALK about the old paths, I think we get all flashy and strut around like a peacock and miss out on the sweetest blessings.

In an atmosphere where compassion and politeness are normal-it is easy to take it for granted. But in a culture where mutual respect, dignity, compassion and love seem to be waning and waning, how sweet and beautiful the grace and kindness of older generations becomes.

In a time when a lot of things that used to be considered vices, now run rampant under the guise of liberty, how refreshing becomes the idea of numbers of people living clean, pure, holy lives. Some people, when talking about the 'old paths' go on an instant tirade about backwards hats, baggy pants, 'britches' on women, make-up, and harry potter. But I'd like to share what I think are some of the wonderful, blessed hallmarks of the old paths that I'd like to make a part of my life. BTW, these are not all necessarily NECESSITIES, they are good things, they are things that are based on Biblical principles, but they aren't a list of rules and dogma, you'll see what I mean.....

Not too long ago, Christian families found it quite natural to sit down at some point in their day and open up the Bible, share a few Scriptures, pray together, encourage each other and sing a spiritual song. It wan't forced, It wasn't embarassing, it wasn't a duty, and it wasn't looong, it was just a refreshing part of the day when the whole family came together around God's Word and got on the same page. Are you a bad Christian if you don't do it in your house? I wouldn't say that. But it sure wouldn't hurt yes? It was a pretty regular thing for Christian families back in the day, It kept unity and sweetness in the family. It was a blessing. And maybe if we wanna encourage our children and keep our famlies together and serve God, family alter would be a great idea! Some kids have never even heard their Dad's pray out loud. You shouldnt be afraid to pray with your family, you wife and your kids.

Nowadays someone ets married at 30 years old and someone says, wow, ur marrying so young! lol Really? My grandmother was married at 17! But times have changed. Again, I'm not a nutcase. I'm not saying there's something wrong with waiting until later in life ot get married but I think the mentality that is causing this trend is not a good one. Even among Christians we have a lot less respect for the institution of marriage than we used to. Marriage is a blessing ordained by God. What God hath joined together let no man put asunder. We should respect and seek to support and encourage marriage. Marriage is a good thing, It brings stability to our society, to our children, and to young adults. People actually look at being with one partner all of your life as a bad thing. It isn't a bad thing. Noe everyone is lucky enough to have it that way, but if you manage to meet the RIGHT person and marry them instead of experimenting and making mistakes. That's a GOOD thing not a bad thing.

Average Americans only wanna have 1.5 kids these days, that way they can afford to buy more cars, send them to summer camp, play every sport, go to private schools on and on, in my not so humble opinion, our priorities are off. Again, I would NEVER tell you how many kids to have. I'm just saying children are an heritage of the Lord, they are a blessing. And there is nothing wrong with being more concerned about family than obsessed with career. Just throwing it out there. There was a day when families had one tv, not a tv in every room, and one car in the driveway, and everyone survived. lol

Not being afraid to sing

One of the biggest things that old time religion Churches had going on was loud, heartfelt, singing. People are afraid to sing now and enjoy themselves and they think they have to sound professional. It isn't 'american idol' Get back to enjoying singing and making melody in ur heart to the LORD!

I was taught when we were young that Christmas was a time to be thankful and be together, there were times we had almost nothing for presents, or even just plain old nothing lol but I never remember feeling sad, my parents didn't make a big problem out of it so we didnt know we were supposed to be sad :) My point is, if ur broke, it's okay, mak it an old-fashioned Christmas, make things for people, write letters or cards or crafts, show um u care and enjoy each other's company and sing Christmas carols about the Lord. These are just a few of the blessings of the old time ways that I think we ca benefit from. God bless everyone.

The Truth about Love

In Corinthians 13, we are told that without Charity we can do NOTHING. Charity is love in action. It is translated from the same word as love. It is a part of God's love. Charity gives us a clearer sense of the word that it isn't just an 'idea' of love but that it is a love that causes us to GIVE and to give sacrificially, expecting NOTHING in return.

The Bible is true and if it says that without charity we can do nothing and anything that we do is worthless, like a tinkling cymbal or sounding brass-then guess what? We can do NOTHING without it. The Word also talks about the Church that has left its first love. That CHurch got itself into a bad situation. Now, I didn't write this down just to say, "See, this is why we must have more sermons on the topic of love" No, no, no. It is not that simple by a long shot. Even sermons on love and charity are not the answer. The point is, there must be love. First, we must know the love of God (we only love Him because He first loved us) and secondly, we must love God back-which will happen as we get a clear look at His love.

It might seem simple, but it is essential. What lasts forever? What is the greatest of all things? What is at the TOP of every Biblical list of 'virtues' ....Charity, or love. Without it, we got nothing. I have dealt with sooooOOOOOooOOOoooooo many people over the years who come to Church looking for help, and you spend time with um, you pray with um, you teach n preach u counsel, u try n help, you do everything you can but does it magically fix their lives? No. Because when the rubber meets the road, they are NOT filled with a love for God. So many people come to the Church like they're signing up for public assistance. :( this is so sad, because it isn't that God doesn't want to help you, HE does want to help you but the ONLY thing that CAN help you is a relationship with HIM but if all you're looking for is quick fixes to get YOUR way in life, you've come to the wrong place and you've brought the wrong attitude. That's why Jesus said that He that will gain His life must first lose it! Because in seeking to gain for yourself, you'll gain nothing, but when you give it up for Jesus, you end up gaining everything!

So many people say yeah, I don't think it's true Micah. Because I went to Church. I sang the songs, heard the sermons and read the Book, and it didn't help me. Ahhh, but you see, that's the problem. It has nothing to do with the sermons and the songs and the reading, and the attendance, what's supposed to happen, is you're supposed to fall in love with the one who wrote the Book, inspired the sermons and is being sang about! You've gotta fall in love with Jesus, you've gotta come to Him, you've gotta realize that He ISN"T some mean ogre in the sky, but that He actually loves you beyond imagination..He died for you, He rose again for you, His blood can make you clean and you can belong to Him. He wants to be a Father to you, He wants to be a Healer to you, He wants to be a Saviour to you, He wants to be a Comforter to you, He wants to be a Shepherd to you and yes, He wants to be Lord and Master to you. He wants a REAL relationship and friendship with you. He doesn't wanna be Santa Clause, He doesn't wanna be a gene where u just rub the lamp and make ur wishes and carry on, He doesn't wanna be a socialist.communist government to you so you can get your public assistance and carry on, no-He doesn't offer those kind of cheap, shallow solutions, He offers a real, authentic relationship with Himself that will utterly transform your life. ANYTHING less than that is just pretense and false religion and it won't help you, it wont fulfill you and eventually you'll walk away, give up, self-destruct AND you'll probably blame Church, your PAstor and ultimately God. It's so heartbreaking. And ALL you needed to do was get to know Jesus. No one is saying you cant enjoy your cars and your houses and your family and your job and your fishing and your hunting and your hobbies etc etc etc, but when they're your god, it doesnt leave any room for the real God. And if you think you can 'play' the real God so He can help you get what you want out of the gods you worship. It doesn't work out well for anyone :( God loves you, do you love Him back?

Kindness Revolution

Spent a good deal of time this week re-reading the Gospels. I've had times where I had a hard time understanding the teachings of Jesus and felt I could connect more with the Epistles. But I feel like I am coming to understand much more of what Jesus was trying to teach us.

The 'Godlen Rule' especially jumps out at me now. I know that humanity is NOT going to embrace complete righteousness in our communitites until Christ returns---but that makes perfect sense, you see-I have always been told that the sermon on the mount for example is Kingdom teaching and that that is how the world will be run int he Millenial Kingdom, but I never thought much about it now I see it more clearly then ever-our Saviour and Creator TOLD us ALL exactly HOW we COULD actually live the way we were meant to, not just as individuals but as a society. Will we follow it and enter into a utopia? No. But He has shown us that HIS way i the best way and when He finally returns He will demonstrate this! When Jesus reigns, the world will be run how it was SUPPOSED to be. Talk about a Revolution. All of these poor Arabs are having revolutions that just end in more blood-shed and persecution BUT if the WHOLE world started following the "Golden Rule" we'd have a Jesus Revolution, a Kindness Revolution. Crime would stop. Dishonesty in business would stop. If we SINCERELY asked ourselves, is this how I would want ot be treated EVERY time we did something. It reminds me of that book "In his steps". Just what would ACTUALLY happen if a whole community said "What Would Jesus Do?" every time they made a decision? Wow! Do you see it? Do you feel the profoundness of it? Once, I didn't. Once, it was lost on me. But now it is so clear. Jesus had the answer to ALL social problems. Love thy neighbour. Treat others as you'd like to be treated. That is it. It is that simple.

We don't see the importance f it because we lie to ourselves. We tell ourselves we don't care how we're treated. We say oh I wouldnt mind if someone treated me this way or that way. But the truth is we ALL love ourselves and we'd all aprreciate beign treated with honor and respect and thoughtfulness, kindness and consideration. Respect is the Christian way. Kindness is the Christian way. Good manners are Christian! Being courteous is Christian! Serving others is Christian! Giving is Christian. Compassion is Christian. Because it is what our Master taught us to do. And He didn't just tell us, He showed us. He took the time to call Martha by her NAME> She wasn't just some woman, another lemming, another nameless follower, she was Martha, someone he cared for. He healed people that were sick. He fed the hungry before He sent them away. He washed His disciples feet. He laid down His life for others. Jesus is the greatest Minister. He came to Minister to us! Thank You Jesus! You are awesome!

The Truth About Satan

I've known a lot of Bible-thumpers who are convinced that the Devil wants to steal children's souls through the use of pokemon cards and Harry Potter books! They warn against these evil ploys of Satan & encourage lots of paranoia and protectionism to keep us all safe from the Devil ruining our families!

I cannot help but imagine that the Devil himself laughs at this type of stuff. You sit there all self-satisfied that you've protected yourself and your family from the Devil because you dont have no 'new age' music, you dont go to Lily Dale and get your palms read, you don't celebrate Halloween (the Devil's B-Day? LOL) you don't let your kids read Harry Potter etc. You think Pentegrams are scary-a pentegram is nothing but a design, Harry Potter is a make-believe children's story, and pokemon cards, oh geez, do I really have to distinguish that with a response?

The Devil THRIVES on your anger, your bitterness, your harsh words, the ways that you act that HURT your family or make your children feel small and un-loved. He doesn't need you to be drawing pentegrams and calling yourself a warlock. He is perfectly pleased and has you right in his grasp when you are self-righteous, self-satisfied, mean-spirited, and small.

A part of me would like to get into relevant details. BUt I'm trying to resist that temptation, partially because often the ways in which your own family plays into the Devil's hands can be unique to your family and if I bring up an example, you'll just excuse your own practices.

My point is this-wake up and stop being so out of touch. There are HORRRRIBLE things happening to people in this world every day and most of them don't have anything to do with Harry Potter! WHy not take a stand against slavery and persecution in the middle-east and Africa? WHy not take a stand against child abuse and mind control practiced by so many sickos in this country? WHy not try to help those who are struggling with addictions or depression? Why not help the fatherless and the widows and the poor?

Satan is waging war on us, and we THINk were fighting back as we wage war on imaginary enemies like pokemon cards! LOL Poeple even write books about this stuff. Are you kidding me? People are struggling, people who have been raped or beaten or thrown onto the streets, people who have been addicted to alcohol and heroine. People who have real problems. People are suicidal and depressed. And what do we offer them> Often we offer them so cheap, superficial, platitudes about being strong and toughening up and just remember God doesn't give you anything to tough for you to handle and just move on! I've even seen some Christians REBUKE someone for being depressed and tell them to snap out of it. You don't have 10 minutes to comfort the depressed but you'll spend hours ranting about pokemon cards? lol Insanity! That's what it is. People don't need to burn their books and movies and cards, and 'straighten out' they need to have the Love of God and the Gospel of Jesus Christ shared with them!

God knows the deep, hidden, misunderstood things that dwell deeeeep inside of you that are hurting you and messing you up and He wants to heal and forgive all of it! The word says He heals all of our diseases, and it is talking within the context about our SOUL's diseases. This sinful world has poisoned and diseased ALL of our souls But GOD can and will HEAL your soul!

We like to play tough, but if you're a human being you are hurting. To exist in this earth means to know suffering, to know the sin nature, to know this fallen reality. We are all hurting, we all have problems and Jesus came here to rescue us, to seek and to save that which was lost. He wants to redeem you, to buy you back from sin, and the Devil and this world-by His blood-to purchase you and make you His and make you free and forgiven. That's what the whole world needs to know. None of us are born into this world whole. We have a hole in our hearts. But God can make you whole and complete and healed. Look to Jesus, He purchased a brann new life for you on the cross of Calvary and He rose again from the grave. He is at the throne of God the Father right now, and He is reaching out to you by the Power of His Spirit, saying come to me all ye that labour and are heavy laden and I will give you rest. It was prophecied that Jesus, the Messiah-would come to heal the broken hearted and to set the captives free! That is the truth the enemy of your soul doesn't want you to know! And that is the truth that is the weapon against all of his lies!

Real Life

God loves me so much! lol And He loves you too, dear reader :)

How do I put this? I can be a REAL mess! Seriously, if any of you have seen me at my worst, and some of you have-it isn't pretty! I don't always have a good attitude. I'm NOT the best example. Heck, someone called me one of their 'spiritual mentors,' today-And I won't lie to you, it made me feel so.....I don't know what the word is, humble,......ashamed? Unworthy? I don't know. Even though I LOVE to share my thoughts, even though I am a Sunday School teacher....I often have nagging thoughts that say, Micah, if you're leading people, face it-they deserve better! :( that makes me sad, and in a sense, it's probably true. I mean there are and have been Christian leaders with much more wisdom, character and consistant attitudes than me. But I have to say this, in my defense, sort

I think God can use me in all of my imperfections and emotional roller-coasters to teach other people around me and to share with them the fact that you do not have to be super-Christian to experience the wonders of God's love! DOn't get this wrong. I honestly believe in my heart that God wants to bring me to new heights of spiritual maturity. I have a strong desire to be more level-headed, and more 'spiritual.' But I also know that God has a perfect plan and He knows I am going to fall before I do-nothing takes Jesus by surprise, and yet here I am. You know why? God's strength is made perfect in weakness. He is going to use my flaws, my vulnerabilities, my bad experiences, my sorrows, bad memories, hurts and pains,...He is going to use all of them for good, He is going to redeem them. Check out ROmans 8:28 people! Do we believe it?

I have known some sorrow in my life. I have some big broken pieces in my heart. But I'm still here. Having a broken heart is not necessarily a bad thing! I'm not saying it feels good. It hurts, But that doesn't make it bad. If you're convinced it is all bad, u may let it harm you but if you accept it, your broken-ness can make you whole! Isn't that such a paradox? But it's true. I can't feel and understand God's soothing, healing, comforting power like I do if I am not broken first. In my brokenness, God expresses and shows His love in new ways. I get closer to Him and I have more compassion and love for others.

Some of my friends are going through such low valleys tonight. One good friend is dealing with the passing of her own mother. The heartbreak is just more than one can imagine. I have not been down the road she is on and all I can do is pray and trust God to take care of her.

I think more and more of Christ. NO one human being can understand ALL that your sorrow intails. Except Jesus. He understands. He is touched with the feeling of our infirmities. He knows exactly what were going through, He has been through it all and more.

Was it BAD for Jesus to endure such loss on the cross? No, it was a great good that He did.

Was it BAD for Jesus to sweat drops of blood in the Garden of Gethsemane while He prayed to the Father?

Was it bad for Him to greet Judas, the man who was betraying Him?

Was it wrong for Him to say Father, forgive them for they know not what they do...? No, it was all good. NOT easy, but good.

And three days later when He rose in joy and victory, was He sorry? No. He was glad at the joy that was set before Him! Jesus would never regret the awesome choice that He made.

We often also face our own type of Gethsemane. Another question; was Jesus sinning when He cried My God My God why hast Thou forsaken me? Get this, a lot of people who have a rigid sense of what spirituality is, would probably be the first ones to say, now Jesus, don't be upset. Everything is going to be fine in 3 days, no need to be sad......  You see, Jesus gives us our example for EVERYTHING for our lives. He shows us how to treat others, how to fight the Devil, how to work, He lived the perfect life---and He shows us how to suffer too. It is NOT a sin to be upset. It is not a sin to cry. It is not a sin to be sad. You are not disqualified from the ministry because you have sorrow. Jesus had sorrow.

Jesus also had joy. It says because of the joy that was set before Him He despised the shame and endured the cross, in other words compared to the joy of our salvation the shame meant little to Him.

Do you feel like you are a trainwreck? Do you feel like you have baggage that needs to be dealt with? Do you feel your emotions are erratic? Do you feel like you need to get it together, or you're a bad example....etc? Guess what? God still loves you and He wants to use you. He can use a broken person. He breaks a pot and makes it new. He is the Potter. He even says He has respect for a broken heart and a conrite spirit. You may feel that you have nothing to offer in your brokenness, when in fact-you are at a great spot for God to o something amazing! God takes broken lives, broken hearts and broken situations----and uses them to make miracles!

SO many people are LOOKING so hard for the perfect family, the perfect Church, the perfect job, the perfect life, the perfect Pastor, the perfect youth group, the perfect Bible study so that they can finally do something for God----but ALL you need is a perfect Saviour and He will do it all. Lift up your situation to Him and watch Him work. Stop waiting for everything to be just so-thinking that then God will be able to work, stop having the ideal situation in your thinking......was it ideal for Saul to want to kill the new King God anointed? Was it ideal for Jacob's sons to sell their brother into slavery? Was it ideal for Sarah to have Isaac in her 90's? Was it ideal for Moses to be born in the middle of a massacre? Was it ideal for the Messiah to be born with a bunch of barn animals? God doesn't work with the ideal-He works with human beings like me and you in REAL life. He loves you.

God loves you

I have so much to learn, not academically but deep inside. I've been learning more and more what are the imolications of God's amazing love, but I find a  lot of the times my own actions and attitudes are just not expressing that love. I have to get some of what I'm understanding on the surface to puh down deeper into my attitude and my thoughts and my heart.

As I sit and just meditate on the Beatitudes, or the Golden Rule, or the crucifixion itself-or other scenes from the Gospels like when the woman washed Jesus feet with her tears and anointed Him---I get to just....allowing myself to recognize all of the emotions contained in those scenes. The beauty, the boldness, the scandal even, of the love that was shown in the life of the Christ.

What is Jesus like? According to the Scriptures? He let John lay on His chest. He lifted up the children in His arms and blessed them. He drove the moneychangers who were cheating people and taking adavantage of them out of the Temple. He taught the people about this living Father in the story of the prodgical son, He had compassion on the multitude. He cried at Lazaruses' tomb,..He was a man of sorrows, well acquainted with grief. Jesus is a man of feeling and passion. He knows ALL of the sorrows we face and then some! He has known so much sorrow and pain and loss. Yet He is risen in victory and prays for us all now at the right hand of the Father.

It is of great comfort to think that this man who is also the Creator and Lord of all, and is Wisdom incarnate, full of power and glory-is touched with our infirmities and cares so much for us. The Bible says He came to set the captives free and to heal the broken hearted-isn't that cool? I mean when you REALLY think about it, the Creator, the All-Mighty, the one who it says we would be at the beginning of wisdom to fear, He left the glory of Heaven and came down here to do what? To receive glory and worship & claim His rightful place on this earth with all of us grovveling at His feet? No, not exactly. He came out of love and concern for us, for our well-being. He came to seek and to save that which was lost. He came to help us. He came on a rescue mission.

That just gets me in my heart. I understood God as someone to be taken seriously and reverenced for a long time, but I'm not sure if I was really get a handle on the fact that the most powerful, wise, all-knowing, completey worthy Being that exists....a Creator infinitely beyond comprehension-wants GOOD for me, loves me, delights in me, sees me, hears me, knows me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me :) For us all.

meh, this pain pill is making it so hard to finsih my thoughts, i have this infection in my glands right now, so im gonna come back n try to finsh this though. God bless u all. Remember, God loves you!

God has been teaching me so much, yet I've never felt so....human. I don't feel like Joe spiritual, or everybody's mentor. And you know what. That's okay, I don't have ANY reason to try and project some image of myself being any further along than you are. You have flaws. I have flaws. God loves me. I say this because I've noticed that for years I've felt afraid to be vulnerable in admitting my own weaknesses or areas where I don't have everything figured out. And that has held me in bondage.
Part of the reason for this COULD be that when I was a young kid attending Sunday School at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church-when I shared some of my own feelings and vulnerabilities with my sunday school teacher, I was derided and put down for it. Sadly, many, even some well-meaning people-will judge you and put you down or make you feel bad or give you some spiritual platitude the moment they see a sign of weakness from you. But the Spirit of God brings freedom and perfect love casts out fear. God knows your vulnerable and hurting and damaged areas of life even better than you do and despite what some pseudo-pious people would lead you to believe, He never asked us to put on a facade and pretend were something we aren't. God accepts me when I am hurting. He doesn't tell me to get my crap together and then come back when I'm ready. No He is my great Physician and my COunsellor. He is the one who is going to fix me up and heal me. He is not emberassed to embrace this special needs child and give me the nurture and instruction that I need.

I was once one who believed that "Psychology" is one of the great evils of the world because of all of the misguided, blame-your-mother, freudian treatment methods, as well as the sometimes over-medicated society we live in BUT I have realized this, we can no more REJECT the science of 'psychology' because of unscriptural theories than we can reject 'Biology' because of the unscriptural theories of darwinism. Piaget and Freud may not have the answers for you BUT the Great Physician and the True Counsellor=DOES! And I am not too afraid of being called a heretic to acknowledge this.

Romans says we need to renew our minds, Philippians says we need to control our thinking, Psalms tells us we will be blessed when we meditate of God's laws. All through the Bible we are taught the TRUE path to healing of the mind, yet ultra-pious fanatics would want us to completely neglect these great blessings of God and replace them with shallow platitudes and Church slogans.

A PROPER and Scriptural understanding of your self-worth IN CHRIST will deliver you from your inferiority complex!

A deep understanding of the Gospel will deliver you from unhealthy fears.

A proper understanding of God's love with deliver you from the fear of abandonment (Perfect love casteth out fear)

All sorts of distortions and misunderstanding and lies of the Devil that damage our mind and emotions can be healed by the Word of God as taught to us and applies to our hearts by the Holy Ghost of God.

We are to buy the truth and sell it not! The truth will make you free. I value the truth and it doesn't matter if it fits into someone's idea of a good sermon or not, the truth is, JESUS loves you more than you could ever fathom and He values you and He doesn't see you as worthless scum-He has made us holy and acceptable by the blood of His Son. Why do you think the GOSPEL is so scandalous to the religious establishment? Get back to the Gospel, in all of its power and glory, it is the answer, even to the questions that the psychologists are asking.

Boundaries & Decision Making In Psalm 1

Every responsible person knows how to set some boundaries in his/her life.

A fence or a wall in a totaliterean nation is there to oppress, but such a burrier in a free nation is there for different reasons, It is very easy for one who prizes freedom to see boundaries as an obstacle, but certain boundaries actually afford us our freedom-I have the boundary of my own skin so I know where I end and the rest of the world begins.

The same firearm that empowers an oppressor or robber, can be used by a responsible citizen or officer of the law to defend and protect. So it is with good boundaries.

As one builds up a life & a family, they need to have some direction and planning in who and what is going to impact and influence them.

Another good example of Scriptural boundary-keeping is this 'keep' or guard...'thy heart with all diligence for out of it are the issues of life'

I have the freedom to decide who and what will influence and control me and my life. I must be responsible with this freedom and use it for good by seeking wholesome and helpful influence and avoiding the bad. This principle of blessing is spelled out for us in Psalm1. ALWAYS REMEMBERING PSALM 1 recently helped me in making some very important decisions.

When ur making decisions, ask yourself this; am I being scornful or listening to those who are scornful? Am I listening to the advice of the ungodly? Am I headed in the same direction as sinners? Find the source of your motivation, influence and advice and press it up against the truths of Psalm 1.

This may seem like the simplest message I've ever expressed on here, but some day, it will be of unspeakable value.

The Truth Is Out, There Is A Leak, A Spiritual Informant, A Spy, A Narc, A Recon Mission for Liberty

"Give me liberty or give me death" -Patrick Henry

Fear is the enemy, my friends. Patrick Henry was tapping into some reckless abandon, which brings freedom. He was saying ya know what, if we gotta live in slavery just so we can have safety than life aint worth living anyways. I'd rather die than be a slave! Gimee liberty or death! That's the attitude that will win us freedom! Because if you have fear you truly are in bondage. Fear and intimidation are the ULTIMATE weapon that abusers use AND TRUTH AND COURAGE are our ways of fighting back. Arm yourself with the truth and have the courage to never back down!

I'm not backing down! I know I've made some "Enemies" lately. I know I'm at the top of some people's 'crap list.' But I'm okay with that :) and by the grace of God, I'm learning to not be eaten up by anger or unforgiveness but ALSO not to mistake meekness for weakness. I won't be veangeful, I won't be sadistic, I wont be wrathful, but I won't tolerate and condone evil either.

We ALL have our faults. And redemption and reconciliation i available for EVERYONE. I long for it and pray for it.

But I have had my eyes opened so wide now! I have seen the light. There is so much abuse, oppression, slavery, bondage and condemnation that we tolerate and justify by some warped, twisted, mistaken sense of morality and right. For example, so many people justify harsh, harmful, sadistic behavior from parents towards their children in the name of discipline. But all that is-is a cloak for ther maliciousness! Open your eyes! WWJD? Does God treat us that way when we mess up? No. You may say "they're my children." NO, they aren't. NO human being owns another human being. NO ONE! They are God's children and He has entrusted them into your stewardship and care so you can look out for them and nurture and provide and raise them, they are not posessions!

I have seen oppressors in so many different positions employ so many different methods of control and manipulation. If you're, like I was, a tad bit naive, you just do not realize how full of power abuse this world is, but once you recognize the power structure, you'll see that a lot of behavior that you take at face value, and don't examine, is actually quite insidious.

I feel called, my eyes couldn't have been opened to this for NO reason. I feel called to stand up for the helpess, speak up for those without a voice, be an advocate for the vulnerable, defend the helpess.....this is why I am working very hard to finish the book I am writing on bullying and manipulation tentatively titled "Manifesto of the Abused"

This book looks at the issue of the abuse and the importance of TRUE spiritual liberty in this generation. We look at it from family life, to Churches, to governments and communities and even to your own personal spirituality. These concepts and principles apply to so many different areas, it is truly amazing. The basic premise of the whole thing is simply this "Where the Spirit of the Lord is there is liberty" God's presence brings freedom. God wants us to be free. So if there is bondage, slavery, oppression, abuse, bullying, or intimidation-----the will of God is not being accomplished and HE wants to set you free. The TRUTH will set you free, and thats why from my blog to my book to my life I wanan spread the TRUTH everywhere I can so freedom can ring all over! Remember also that Jesus said He came to set the captives free! What captivates you? What are you a slave to? Who are you afraid of? Who intimidates you? Who scares you? He makes you feel condemned and beaten down? God doesn't want that for you. He wants you to be free!

The ULTIMATE slave-masters are the ones who live in your mind. The ones who read the paragraph above this one and say No No No No, that Micah is going in a weird direction, I Don't know about him, do you think he's getting liberal? I mean, I'm preeeety sure God wants me to feel guilty and condemned so I can stay humble ; ) you see, those little imps of Hell that live in your mind are what really hold you back from enjoying your freedom in Christ and soaking up His love!

God loves you and in ROmans 8 He says if God gave us His only Son how shall He not also freely give us all things! Try reading Romans 8 and looking at the GOD presented there and see if the God of Romans 8 is the same God as the one you've been believing in. God isn't a bully. And when your abusers try n tell you God gave them permission to treat you like their property, tell them to go back to their father, the father of lies.

The Love of God Never Changes, No Matter Where My Attitude Is

The last couple of weeks I have been so distracted. Many temptations and attacks from Satan have come my way. As they do to us all. Plus I started a better job so I'm working hard.

In the midst of all of my sins, downfalls, distractions, anger, confusion, situations, etc- every once in a while, I get a little reminder that God is still with me, He is faithful, He is constant, and He loves me. And I sit back and just meditate on the fact that He is FOR me. It gives me courage. People may be against me. They may TRY to condemn me, look down on me, put me down, but ya know what? God is not doing that. It is easy to find myself confused into thinking the voices of the world and the flesh and the Devil is speaking for God, but guess what-it's Not. God does not condemn me and He isn't looking ot put me down He is looking to heal me and raise me up by His side. And the paradox is awesome! When I fall down before Him, He lifts me up. Humble yourself in the sight of the Lord and He shall lift you up! I can be at His side by His power and in His grace, not in my own merits. I can enter th Holy of Holies with the blood of Christ. God, help me to remember this. Give me courage when I am in the lions den, let me remember Your power and Your angel and Your protection.

Men like Daniel, and Joseph-they lived among the enemy, they lived in bondage, yet they were fearless, they prayed, they worshipped, they held into their faith and had integrity. Daniel and Joseph are my heroes!

Many times, I sit back, and say "I can't do this anymore." Many times I feel sad, and broken, dejected and weak. I know these seasons must come. But more and more, I've been allowing myself to atleast consider the possibility that I CAN br strong and I can be vcitorious. How many times did God tell Joshua be strong and of a good courage?

Be strong in the Lord and the power of His might.

I am in His hands. and just like my brother was hit by a huge truck and somehow God made sure that He was safe, as these huge obstacles come flying at me, I know I am in His hands. And that's a good place to be. I am not sinless. I don't always do the right thing. I'm not always above reproach, but I'm living by grace. I'm in His hand. he has got me. He is for me. He has taken me through a lot already. Should I stop trusting Him now?

It can be so hard, but I thank God for good examples like David, Daniel, Joseph, and Job. They stayed faithful. they kept on believing and trusting and turning to God for grace. God is good. He is trustworthy. He is the lover of our souls.

I truly, truly wish that I could share with everyone what I am experiencing. I know osme understand and some do not. I was always led to believe that in order to achieve humility, I had to think of myself as filthy, and unworthy etc. and it's so funny, because in a way it is true-before God saved me, I was so hopeless, I was so destroyed, I was a broken vessel, unable to be used. But now. What am I to God? It is hard to believe sometimes, but I am a reward to Him, a prize, I am desired by Him. He WANTS to spend time with me. He WANTS to heal me. He WANTS to bless me. He gave everything to make me His. he loves me more than anyone on earth loves me, and hey, there are some people on this earth who love me quite a bit, and God lvoes me even more! That' amazing right there. I mean to think that God loves Sarah even more than I do, well, that's pretty awesome, He must love her so much!

Often, the little religious person inside of me starts yelling NO NO NO NO NO Micah, you slefish lil self-centered wicked person, it isn't about you buddy, it's about God so stop with this narcisism and self love. this is so sacriligious. LOL so then I have to actually go to the Scriptures, and look up the words love and grace, and read the verses and take them at face value ad believe what they say, and before you know it, there I am again :) basking in the love of God. He DOES love us. He is passionate about us. he does want to heal us and make us joyful. And everything that cries out in some kind of misguided false piety and says were making it about us-is a lie.

Who is worthy to be worshipped, me or God? God is! Who is trustworthy? He is. Who is Holy and Just and wondrous and Exalted? JEHOVAH is!   And I will worship HIM, not myself :)  But the fact is, I am a treasured creation of this mighty, Holy LORD! And so I can rejoice in who I am BECAUSE of Him. Ultimately, even taking care of myself, is really just honoring Him. My body is the Temple of the Holy Ghost! If i take care of it, who am I honoring, me or Christ?

Only God Ca Judge Me, yeah-I said it. Call me an infidel, I dont care, whatchya gonna do cut my head off?

I am listening to some music about the love of God. I have to keep my eyes on Him because I do not have it in myself to love my neighbours or forgive my enemies. Once again I find myself at the end of my own strengths. Frustrated. Knowing that many who claim to be friends will hop in at a time like this with platitudes and judgment and criticism. Knowing that I would be wise to keep things to myself, to act strong, to tell eveyone how wonderful things are and ensure them that I have it all under control. I wouldn't want to make my friends uncomfortable or nervous after all. Thankfully, my Father in Heaven is fully aware of where I am and though my faith is small and my fears are big-He is trustworthy and He will come through, I know this-even amidst my doubts.

I am so tired. So weary. So broken. I am so un-interested in someone explaining to me and lecturing me on why I shouldn't be tired and shouldn't be broken, Thank God-He understands. Thank God He is not tired. He is not distracted or plagued by migraines. He is not concerned with people saying bad things about Him or with His reputation. He is not afraid. He is not tired. Thank God.

Most people, consider it YOUR Christian duty to bear with them when they are having doubts or troubles or trials,..they'll sit there and complain to you or rationalize things with you for hours n hours, and EXPECT you to listen and not write them off, but tell your problems for two minute and they'll tell you to shape up and get right and go right back to talking about themselves. Now I know I am complaining right now, but certainly there is something to be learned from all of this. One thing is that it is good to have friends who are Supportive, Compassionate, Positive, Encouraging, Sober, etc. But sadly, I dont know if we always have these types of people in our lives. But we do have a friend that sticketh closer than a brother, we do have a Counsellor who is trustworthy, and compassionate. Even when I have seemingly no one who understands, I have the Lord and His comforting Word. Who understands pain, or rejection, or betrayal, or weariness better than Jesus? Surely what Jesus went through in Gethsemane is not to be compared with my own agony. Surely He understands my sorrows. And He does not write them off. He doesn't give me some one-liner, some platitude and continue on. He doesn't look at it as a sign of weakness that He can take advantage of! Thank God. He is not a predator. Jesus does not manipulate. He doesn't look to take advantage. He isn't trying to gain some position or footing or control. Jesus gives us opportunities to yield to Him and follow His ways in love, He doesn't push us around. We live in a world full of pushing and pressure. We are tempted, intimidated, goaded, lied to, guilted, pressured, etc. But what does Jesus offer? He offers an INVITATION. He calls us to come. Notice that Jesus doesn't back us into a corner? He doesn't trick us or force us. He calls to us.

The more I see the true nature of the beast in this world. The more clear the theme of abuse and manipulation become to me in our culture-the more I see the wonderful truth about Christ Himself. He is not like us. He is not like your boss, or your teachers, for most-He is not like your parents, He is not like many people's husbands or wives, girlfriends or boyfriends, or even friends, --He doesn't twist your arm, He doesn' bribe you, He doesn't manipulate you-He just loves you and gives you an invitation. Wow, Jesus is a Gentleman. I love Him. I really do. Thank You Jesus for not just being another one in a long line-but for being 100% unique, for being the Saviour! For being the one who ministered! Thank You for washing the disciples feet and for healing the sick!

Is my heart a little off tonight? Yes. Am I frustrated and tired of humanity. Yes indeed. But atleast God can use that intense frustration to remind me of the great contrast we see in Jesus. That is a good thing.

You know what is important and life-changing? Kindness. If we would follow Jesus' example instead of trying to project our own ideas onto His image-we would find a revolution of kindness that would absolutely transform Churches, families, individuals, communities and lives.

It is the little things. Being thoughtful in the little things says everything. Do you really think you'll be livign and kind in some big way if you don't have that attitude in a small way? Courteousness, politeness, thoughtfulness, can mean the world to people. They mean the world to me. People so often forget or mispronounce my name. When people I have worked for make it a point to remember my name, without even realizing it they have made an in-road to my heart because I feel respected.

One of my friends says I am sensitive. But ya know what, growing up in the ministry, where you always are expected to give and give and give and worry about everyone else and to never have any problems, and to never be selfish, it's pretty easy to get sensitive. Heck I've been being lied about and watching my family get lied about most of my life. Then I get somebody who has never experienced it in their life telling me how to deal with it. Telling me I have to roll over and be a victim for Jesus every day? It's like when the USA tells Israel not to defend herself.

I don't have all the answers. I don't even know where I'm going with all this, I'm just saying it is irritating sometimes. And I am saying that there are certain lines that when crossed-you're gonna find yourself on the fighting side of me.

I get so tired of the double-standards. I get tired of MY happiness being the VERY last thing on everyone's list of important things. How would you feel if someone tried to destroy your marriage? How would you feel if you lived celibate up to 28 yrs old? and there are a bunch of other how would u feels that I just can't type down, but I just think its funny how all the good religious lines and what would Jesus do's get sent my way on a lot of pills that NOBODY telling me these things would ever dream of swallowing.

People say, "Well consider how they feel" NO!!! I am not considering how they feel. I am considering how I feel. Because this is my life and i've spent almost my entire life considering how everyone else feels and they can have their own way on just about everything and i give them every consideration but they arent going to take the few precious things that are truly mine! NO! I am drawing a line! I am ALSO a human being! Just because I'm a Christian or the PAstor's son ladeedah does not mean that I don't ever deserve ANY consideration or common respect or common dignity. Im not going to martyre myself for everyone else's petty little feelings and try n say its the "Christian" thing to do.

You can say I'm "Angry" you can criticize me, you can pretend to be my friend but then second guess me all the way and poke at my weaknesses, you can give me pseudo-pious one-liners, you can patronize me, you can demonize me, ostracize me, ignore me, pray for me, but regardless of what you do-I'm doing what i think is right. I'm living my life and I'm trying my darndest not to be bitter at all of the two-faced, sanctimonious, Bible-thumping, kool-aide drinking, manipulative, self-indulgent, spiritualizing, rationalizing, justifying, double-talking, hypocritical, shallow, religious fanatics that have been trying to destroy my life for about as long as I can remember.

Thank God, somehow amidst all of that self-righteous human filth, I somehow was still allowed to meet Jesus for myself. But it is a struggle to break free of the bull and to keep my heart right. I have to understand how to be angry without having false guilt and to be angry and sin not. Because on the one hand I absolutely love and adore beyond words the truth of God's Word and the beauty of faith and hymns and praising God and Christian fellowship etc, the true, authentic thing is BEAUTIFUL AND WONDERFUL, but I deeply and profoundly and even physically ABHOR religiosity and fanaticism, and cultism and manipulation and false guilt,....there is so much deranged fury and rage and manipulation in the human race that is wrapped up in the guise of piety that I just can't stand it.

May God renew all of our minds, and guide us in the Spirit of truth and stear us COMPLETELY clear of the deranged, sick mentality of the world's religions.

Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death

Though I walk through the valley of ths shadow of death, I will fear no evil

I look around and I see an evil spreading it's vains out like a crawling, spreading cancer, I hear words and voices instilling thoughts deep into the heart that poison the blood. Toxic half-truths, fear-filled tortorous positions, messages of despair, of vanity, and of bondage. and the lie takes root so deep that it seems like a hopeless task to break free.

And as the eye-salve anoints me, and the spiritual medicine frees my mind to think, I feel glad not to be under the power of lies or false piety, But as I look around with my new eyes, I see the whole world infested, overtaken, captured, invaded,...with this kingdom, this power, this stronghold. The god of this world, and his imps and servants seem to thrive and fly around rejoicing in their Hellish kingdom of control. Freedom is cherished by the underground movement in the USSR, or the Resistance in Nazi Germany. Freedom is cherished, loved---but not achieved, except in the mind. How free am I? I keep asking myself. I know that where the Spirit of the Lord is there is liberty. I know that I am more myself than I ever have been when I'm under His influence. I know I don't have to feel bad that I laugh too loud, or that I'm too passionate, or too this or too that. But my flesh is constantly troubled, my heart is vexed. Daily, I am grieved, as I walk through the valley of the shadow of death. I am a free man, But I walk in a Nation of slaves. As my chains have been taken off, I see other people, all around me, bearing the burden, the heavy load, the chains, the fetters, the bands of this world. Living at the mercy of their slave-masters. And the masters keep trying to give me orders, only for me to affirm once again that I do not belong to them and they look away in dissapointment. So used to abusing me, they find it hard to accept the emancipation proclamation they have been sent.

A freed slave often struggles with what a free man is. I want to be all of the citizen that I was meant to be. I don't want to get into sharecropping.

The profound struggle of the age continues. We try to entertain ourselves and make light of it. When not only death and life but eternity hang in the balance every waking moment.

INJUSTICE cries out like the blood of Abel cried out from the earth!

Can you hear it? Do you hear it? Not everyone seems to notice their yelling! Could you walk by the gallows and see the negroes hanging there with their flesh burned and just keep on living? Millions of people did. Can you see all of the abortions and mutilated children, and remian unmoved? Millions do. So what does it take? How MUCH abuse and cruelty is enough? Is too much? When will we awaken to a righteous cause? When is slavery wrong? When will they push you over the limit and you'll stand! Stand against tyranny with no fear. Patrick Henry said "Give me liberty or give me death!" I agree with him. I would rather die then live under the false pretense of liberty! My choice is live free or die!

Bullying in schools, religious bullying, cults, child abuse, beating kids, sexual abuse, political control, government tyranny. It doesnt matter if it comes from your daddy, or if it comes from 'big brother.' It doesnt matter if it is on the internet or in North Korea---the time to stand is now!

Live free or die!
You want a piece of me? You know where to find me! Come n' get it, faschists!!

Some people criticize putting your 'dirty laundry' on a facebook status, as a general rule I'd probably level with that but ya know what-sometimes SILENCE is deafening, you can call me dramatic, or say I should shut up. Okay. But it is a free country. And I am just not one for being intimidated or silent. I was never like that before. I'm not gonna be like that now. I'm a fighter. I'm a free person. I'm no victim. I am not afraid. I am slandered.

When I was a kid, certain of the older kids gave me an EXTRA hard time, lol-reason being, the other kids would kinda kiss up to the bigger kids, and just give in, but me, even if they were ten times bgger than me, I would go down swinging EVERY time rather than be a little nancy and give em whatever they asked for. I do not respond to bullying. If youw ant to get something out of me, you would be MUCH better suited trying some reverse-psychology than you would by bullying me. If you sit me down n try n change my mind ur more apt to get somewhere, because I'd rather DIE than be strong-armed. God didn't make me a punching-bag, a doormatt, or a victim. And he DEFNTLY made me with a BIG mouth and if SILENCE is what you want-you'll be sorely dissapointed. If you want me to keep things secret, and be afraid, and keep things private because you got something to hide, I'm not ur kind of person. I believe in transparency, accountabilty and integrity!!!

Patrick Henry said "Give me liberty or give me death!" I have to say I'm in agreement with that old timer. I'd rather die than live a lie! I'd rather be alone than be in an abusive relationship. I'd rather starve than live under socialism. I'd rather be hanged than bow down to statues of Kim Jong IL. My Grandfather fought and bled to offer me a free country, and Jesus Christ die on a cross to give me the Spirit of liberty. I'm not going to live in bonadage to ANYONE. I'm not going to follow arbitrary rules that NO elf-respecting man would follow that would make my Gradfather ashamed of me. You wanna call me dramatic or call me a crank-so be it-I'm Irish that's how we are, that's how God made me so ya might as well deal with it!

There are some things worth fighting for. There are some personal decision that NO ONE can understand except the person making them. There are times when no one else's opinion amounts to a hill of beans. One person told me, whatever you decide, "Be like Jesus"  I have been thinking about this. Do I feel the Spirit of my Saviour near by? Do I feel like I have His heart on this? Yes, Yes I do.

When our lovely Saviour saw His Father's house being desecrated, His reaction was not irrational, over overly dramatic or looking for trouble. His reaction was out of a reverence and a love and a passion for His Father. He was defending His Daddy's house. There are some things worth fighting for, and there are some decisions in life that do not require everyone else's opinions. People keep on sharing their opinions with me. Please get this. Nobody asked for it!

I try so hard to be sensitive to other people's feelings, to listen, to appease, to respect, to tolerate, to win over, to reason with, to love, to be kind, to be polite---and where has it gotten me? It is taken as some kind of sign of weakness. The harder I've tried ot please everyone else, the less they're pleased and the less I'm pleased. I am so over it.

Shine the Light Shine the Light, Shed the darkness no matter what you're fraid to see, He will straighten it out

There are a lot of things that God has illuminated in my life lately. So much so that I can't decide what I want to say here or where to start and how much of it ppl will be able to digest.

I am listening to Brother Hardman right now preaching about "Pleasing God." And he is talking about how MAN often tries to Control and Dominate human beings to the point where INSTEAD of pleasing God we are compelled to PLEASE MAN. Did Not Peter say IT IS BETTER TO OBEY GOD THAN MAN!?!? Do you think Peter and his brethren were scared of the Jewish authorities who had the power to BEAT them and to imprison them and to kill them? DO you think it to courage for peter to tell these intimidating authorities that it was better to obey God than man! Of course it was scary. he was probably sick to his stomach just as I have been lately but he obeyed God anyways! He is a great example for us! Thank God for Peter & his example.

In the face of persecution, amidst being yelled at, stared down, lied about, beat on, even told they were displeasing and blaspheming the God of Abraham-they continued PREACHING the TRUTH. They had boldness. They had a loyalty to God and the truth. They were true Jews, even though the rest of their Nation said they were betraying Judaism. Jesus was the Messiah even though His family didn't accept Him at 1st. He was a true Prophet though they did not receive Him in his home-town. Though He was rejected-He was and is indeed-the Son of the Living God!

I am NOT a liar though I am being lied about. I am NOT wrong in following God, though I feel afraid. I am NOT the cause of the problem even though I am one of the ones willing to acknowledge there is a problem!. I didn't create the problem. I do not bear the responsibility for the problem. I am not perfect or much in my own self-but in Jesus Christ, I am a man of God, a man of valour, a saint.

There are so many areas, so many corners of our hearts that we have not yet allowed the light of God's LIBERATING truth to sine on yet! There is a TON of deep healing that the Good Holy Ghost needs to do.

God's Spirit is sensitive. He gets grieved. He knows where HE is welcome.

More often than not I guess, He is NOT welcome. It does not matter what we SAY, we can say we want Him to move in us all day long, but if we EXPECT Him to do things on OUR terms, according to our preconceived notions. WE are trying to take the Holy Spirit's place.

Where the Spirit of the LORD is there is liberty.

If the Pastor or anyone else led by God is NOT ABLE NOT FREE-to speak on ANY SUBJECT that God tells him to bring up-then the Holy Spirit isn't welcome is he?

FREEDOM is letting GOD have HIS way. Letting the Holy Spirit be the Holy Spirit and do what HE does. Not stifling Him. Not giving Him any boundaries. I'll dare any of us tell God what areas of our lives, our pasts, our families, our hearts-He is ALLOWED to shine the light of truth on and other areas WE believe should be left in the dark. NO AREA is off limits to God. No law is greater than the Law-Giver! He is LORD of the sabbath thus the sabbath serves Him! And so don't dare be a Pharisee and tell God to be careful because He isn't following the rules. There is no box or fence that you can put God on, my friend! Let God be God. Let His be the LORD of your life. LET HIS thoughts be your thoughts.

God encouraged me today through the words of a song written by a dope-smoking heathen! LOL  I could have said, No, No, Lord-you can't do that, dont you know how wicked he is? Just like Peter said Nay LORD, when God lowered those "Unclean" animals down on a sheet and told him to kill and eat. WHAT GOD HATH CLEANSED CALL NOT THOU UNCLEAN.

The Greatest Artist, The First Visionary

The God that thought up the idea to paint the sunrise. That made fascinating little creatures like sea-horses and starfish, and huge yet paradoxically graceful creatures like the blue whale, the God that crafted millions of nebuli that would never even be seen by the naked eye for thousands of years, this God of extravagant and abundant creativity and whit, this artist, this lover and creator of beauty and sublimity, created YOU! So what kind of plan do you think that kind of God would have for your life???

Do you think He wants you to go through the motions? To be motivated by guilt or fear? To live just exist, to be mediocre? That does not measure up with the personality of our Creator. He is not a God who settles for DUTY, or robot-like obedience, He is a God who wants, creates and IS....Love!

Some people, especially religious weirdos, will cloud their world and yours' with negativity. they'll always say you can't can't can't. they always think you should be led by guilt and fear. Some people think fear and even intimidation are the best motivators.

I like how Philippians tells us to think on thigns that are true and honest and lovely! Divorce yourself from the negative, religous, guilt-ridden, status quo, and allow yourself to dream and BELIEVE all that GOD has dreamed and planned for you, His child! HE can answer our prayers and give us exceedingly and abundantly ABOVE all that we ask or think! NOT ONLY does God want to give you the desires of your heart, He wants to bless you even more than that so that your cup runs over! If you have a hard time believing and accepting that, if u think I'm being presumptuous.....are u truly believing in the God of the Good Book or are you believing in the guilt/fear religion of man that you've adopted? Religion sends us in the paths of guilt, fear and duty. God's faith and grace to us leads us in the paths of mercy and truth. all of the paths of the LORD are Mercy and Truth. Amen.

Truth and Accountability

Religious ppl find ways to shirk away from accountability. U ever heard of the word psycho-babble? That's something the world uses to justify bad behavior, but we need to coin a term to define pious-babble. It's the biggest way religous ppl use out-of-context Scriptures, holy cliche's and religious terminology to justify what we all know is stupid. Wrap it up in enough religious wrapping paper, tie the bow of false-humility and you can make almost any behavior seem okay to your fellow Christians.

Right is right. It doesn't matter who it involves. And wrong is also wrong.

The truth is for EVERYONE! Everyone IS accountable. If you do not think that you are accountable, or that other people have a right to peer into 'your business' or that 'what happens here stays here' etc. You have a problem and a god-complex. Transparency, accountability and integrity desperately need to be applied to the 'religious' world. And Preachers and leaders who have the guts to SPEAK the truth, should not be deamonized, sand-bagged, disenfrachized, blamed, persecuted, etc. You KNOW YOU are wrong, you know the man of God has the GUTS and INTEGRITY to stand up for the TRUTH so just acknowledge the truth, don't get sneaky, deceptive, blame-shift, and put up all the smoke and mirrors.

I am an AMERICAN. Since when did I have to be afraid to speak my mind? WHen you are afraid to speak up, to say what's on your mind, to express yourself, when you get some nagging feeling that you should be careful what you're saying even though you aren't saying anything wrong. SOMEONE is intimidating you and it is NOT right. Intimidation is WRONG, ALWAYS WRONG! Bullying is a sin. Manipulating is deamonic. Blame-shifting is of the Devil. Lying is for the children of the Devil. Muddying the waters and spreading confusion is also of the Devil.

Bible says of satan-I would not have you to be IGNORANT of his devices! I bring that up because the way that the man who has the cahonays to speak the truth is often demonized is CLASSIC propaganda technique, and is classic manipulation. All you have to do is stop being IGNORANT of these classic methods and recognize WHo is spreading the lies, and who is telling the truth.

MY LOYALTY will ALWAYS lie with the truth! God says we should love the truth and so as a follower of Christ, nothing is going to be nearer and dearer to my heart that the Truth!
