I fall down, and then get back up and keep moving. I'm not perfect, lol. None of us are. But I continue to experience this walk with Jesus Christ and it is awesome. Nothing I have to say is "New." Though it feels new, because it is new as an experience, the knowledge and the message is something that was already there. I knew it was 'a relationship not a religion' and stuff like that but now I understand more what that means.
The LORD is a Person, He is an individual, not a principle, or a fact or a theory or a law. And Christians are supposed to know Him, to walk with Him, to be friends with God. DO you need a written guide to tell you the likes and dislikes of your wife? I hope not! I hope you actually know her enough to know her personality and what kind of things she likes. The same is true of Jesus, if you KNOW Him, personally, than you don't need a list of things He likes and dislikes given to you by someone else who knows Him because YOU know Him! lol
I just like to think about Christ, and who He is and what He is all about. I see Him and feel Him in His Word. I also feel Him in my heart. I know that the world, and the flesh and the Devil-scream and rage so loudly that sometimes I barely hear the voice of Christ, but I know it is there, and I need to be quiet and resist the other voices and listen for thst still, small voice. It is there. He is faithful. You just have to listen. ANd you hav to distinguish the difference between the voice of Christ and the voice of crazy preachers, teachers and know-it-alls. ONLY the Bible is infallible. If you realize that ONLy what the Bible says is 100% true, than you'll be able to accept ANYTHING the good Lord reveals to you as long as it is Scriptural. God will never contradict His own Scriptures, that wouldnt make sense.
But I'll tell ya, some preachers think that emphasizing the love of Christ so much is self-indulgent and "Liberal," well, I'm not liberal, but they're wrong. If you don't like hearing about the love of Christ, then take John the Gospel, 1, 2, and 3rd John and Romans 8 out of your Bible! Jesus DOES loves us beyond our wildest dreams!
The Gospel is that the Son of God, came to this earth and died and shed His blood and rose again to save us because He loves us! Jesus is at the throne of God even now-interceding for us! He loves us, He prays for us, His Spirit comforts and convicts and teaches us! Even His chastisement is for our GOOD and done out of love. Jesus is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother. Our God is a Father who is perfect and everlasting and all-powerful.
Ephesians 3:17-19 says,
"That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,
May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height;
And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God
You see! God wants us to come to a deeper knwledge of all the dimensions of His amazing Love that we might be filled witht he fulness of God! How exciting is that! See! You don't need to listen to Joel Osteen telling you God wants to give you a new car to find a positive and hopeful message in God's Word! The Bible gives us a message of hope a message of faith, a joyous message, a message of victory! So all these Christians walking around wiht their doom and gloom and pessimism and defeat and pseudo-piety, I wonder what Bible they're really reading ? :) God is good, He isn't bad or cruel, He isn't detached or cold or numb. He is a Good God and a Good Father!
And it isn't as difficult as you might think, to come to a deeper more joyous knowledge of Him. you just have to turn of your Christian radio for a few minutes, and open up your Bible and read it. Here is a wonderful place to start, look up "Love of Christ" in your Bible, read everywhere it says those words, and BELIEVE what God's Word says. You'll never be the same. The love of God conquers all, Our God is Powerful, His Gospel is superior to all man-made and satan-made philosophies and ideologies, we dont need new theories or methods, we don't need high-intelligence or new rules or great leaders, we need the love of God, the message and power of the Gospel! Peace.
